Essential Oils - New Household Cleaning Recipes - New Finds On Etsy

Just got back from my new hairdresser, she is just fab! And what a small world it is. She was actually married to someone on my son in law`s boat out of Virginia. Small, small world!
I have a couple of recipes to share today.
One is a wood polish and the second one is blended oils for a refreshing room spray.
Both  are made using basic essential oils you may have around the house.

Furniture Polish

4 fl oz olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of Lemon essential oil
Mix in a small bottle, apply with a soft cloth and buff to shin. Olive oil feeds the wood and the lemon gives a fresh smell.

 Refreshing Air Spray

3 fl oz spring water
10 drops Peppermint essential oil
10 drops Rosemary essential oil
10 drops Lime essential oil
Mix the above ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake well before spritzing into the room. A very refreshing scent.

Hope these are useful. Everyone should invest in a few essential oils to keep on hand. Ones I would suggest are lavender, lemon, peppermint and rosemary. In the last recipe you could very well substitute the lemon essential oil in place of the lime.
Now a bit of general information on these essential oils.

Lavender

Lavender Oil is fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous and slightly fruity.
The scent of Lavender will rejuvenate and inspire a tired person and relax, soothe and slow down someone who is stressed or tense.

Peppermint

Minty, reminiscent of peppermint candies, but more concentrated. More fragrant than spearmint. The scent of peppermint helps with nausea, relieves headaches, combats sleepiness and reduces sore muscle inflammation, just to name a few.

Rosemary

The essential oil of rosemary is a clear essential oil with a sharp, pine-like scent.
Rosemary is one of the oils often used to boost memory recall and concentration. Rosemary is also a popular aromatherapy oil to use for mild depression and to energize the mind when fatigued.

Lemon

The essential oil of lemon has a purifying citrus scent . When diffused, lemon has been known to refresh and stimulate the mind, improve memory, and promote a sense of well-being. Lemon can be used for basic home remedies. It strengthens nails, removes sticky substances, and can even be used as an insect repellant when diffused.

Its wonderful to investigate the world of essential oils, they can be used many ways and safely used in general recipes like the ones I`ve posted today.

Finally for today, I would like to share this great shop I`ve found on Etsy.
