A Fun Day Of Making Pickles

Pickle Making At My House Today

Today I spent a good part of my day in my kitchen. I made bread and butter pickles from the pickling cucumbers that I`ve been growing in my own garden.
What a great feeling to make something so delicious as bread and butter pickles from produce you`re growing in your own garden.
Any one who knows me, knows very well that I could eat a jar of pickles by myself at any time.
So this was a labor of love today, and hopefully if my garden keeps producing like it is. I may get another batch in before the seasons` end.
I used a well loved recipe of one of my mother`s dear friends, who unfortunately is no longer with us. But what a recipe it is.

I used these Weck 1/5 Liter Tulip Jars.

They are 12.5 ounces each and come in a set of six.

I`m always up for trying something different, so I decided to give these jars a shot.
I`m very pleased with the results. The jars are very easy to fill because they have a wide mouth on them. Also I love the ease of applying the covers with the rubbers and the clips that come with them.

The key to this pickle recipe is chilling the cucumbers in salt and ice to make them very crispy. I hope that I have succeeded on my mission to accomplish this feat. Because I do not like soft pickles that are not crisp.
So needless to say I spent a lot of time on making sure these pickles will be crispy.
So thats about it. But here are some pictures of my pickles below.
Aren`t they just beautiful ?????

Just an interesting fact, I remember my mother and grandmother making pickles in my mothers` kitchen and there was no air conditioner then, imagine that? How hot they must of been doing that on a Summers` day!

Don`t they look delicious ???

As soon as these babies are cold, you know a jar is getting opened and hopefully they are everything I`m looking forward too.

Crispy

Crunchy

And

Deliciously

Sweet

So thats all for today
As always keep it clean!!!

New Product In The Shop

Just revealed my new product at Au Naturelle, friends and co workers are trying it and just loving it!

It all started with a request from a friend and co- worker, she asked me if I made an eye cream. So I replied, "not at this time, but I will research it and work on putting one together."
I researched various oils and after some trial and error, mixing and remixing of various formulations and trying the final resulting serum on myself for a good period of time.

Thus became the new eye serum.

JUST MOISTURE EYE SERUM

 Just Moisture Eye Serum

is just that "just moisture". No additives, fillers, parabens, chemicals, none of these. Just an all natural blend of skin loving oils.
The secret is in the combination of oils and the delicate balance of each, creating this wonderful eye serum.

Just a drop of the serum and blend into the delicate under eye area each night will give you the results you`re looking for.
Hydrated skin, less wrinkles and more firmness with every use.

Check out the eye serum here with this link to the listing at Au Naturelle;

A Beautiful Quiet Sunday Afternoon - June 10, 2018 2:00

A Beautiful Sunday Afternoon

Getting back to the business of living my life. I`ve long ago put the family matter aside. I realized that communication is a two way street, another words the phone works both ways. I know how to use mine, apparently most choose not to use theirs.

Moving on, life really opens your eyes to who people really are. People that you thought were family are only that in name. Friends become more of a family then your mother, brothers and sister. Such is life... C`est La Vie...

So I chose to keep living my life, quiet is nice, its peaceful, without competition or comparisons.

Its repetitive of course, go to work, go to the gym, come home, go to bed, get up and do it again. But I wouldn`t change a thing.  No who`s doing anything better then anyone else, making more money, who has a better job, who`s done more, you know what, who cares. How petty and trivial people can be.

We`re only here on this earth for a short time, nothing is a given. It is a gift to live our lives. I chose to live mine.

Mine has been one of many ups and downs, as all lives are. Full of the good, the bad, the sadness and the hopes and the dreams. And don`t forget the broken promises and broken dreams, of course.

But we all move on, marching through life like little troopers. We hold our heads up high. We start each day and see it as a new adventure, not a competition or a who`s who, who`s better, who`s accomplished more, whats the point?

I`ve found if your day starts badly then march on, hold your head up high and say to yourself it can only get better.

Thats about all I got for now, although I`d like to share one more thing. Every morning when I wake up and open my eyes, this is what I see.

This is my inspiration, because you can`t change or alter the past, you must put it behind you and march right on into the new day with your head held high and say; "Come on world ! I`m ready for you! Let`s go, show me what you got!"

And last, but not least, here`s some inspiration;

Be with people who always show you your strengths and hopes
and
not waste time with people who constantly
remind you of your failures and mistakes...

Because you know what? No is is perfect, we`ve all made mistakes and have had failures...

That`s all,
Keep It Clean!
