Information On Skin Care

Knowing the right skin care information that targets your type of skin will help you acquire a more youthful appearance as well as prevent the occurrence of unwanted pimples, blemishes and other irregularities. With so many products available, you have to know the proper way of choosing and application to focus on your problems areas well. Here is your basic guide toward skin rejuvenation and wellness.
According to Skin Type
People with oily skin are prone to dust, dirt, clogged pores, blemishes and acne. You need to know the right skin care info that will cleanse the entire area without irritating it. Using too many products or those in heavy concentrations may lead to inflammation and redness. Use a natural cleanser, toner and moisturizer to clean and hydrate your skin with damaging cells at the surface. Wash your face no more than 2 times everyday. Use blotting paper instead to fight grease and shine.
Dry and dehydrated skin should be treated with products preferably containing aloe vera. The herb is known for rejuvenating and moisturizing skin which significantly improves very dry and dull complexion, sagging skin and other signs of aging. Hydrating face cream and facial masks are ideal for individuals of this skin type. As for those having problems with age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, skin care information suggests products with anti-aging ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and cellular defense peptides. These can come in the form of creams, gels and moisturizers.
What Else Can You Do?
Have a dry brush exfoliation in the morning just before taking a shower to eliminate dead skin cells. Removing these allows your skin to detoxify thereby letting new skin cells grow and develop. Lymph and blood circulation is also improved and you reduce problems like puffiness under the eyes, flaking and clogged pores. Your entire system benefits from this technique.
Skin care info includes internal approaches as well such as optimizing your digestive system to prevent symptoms from underlying disorders. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to cleanse your body and detoxify. Have at least 35 grams of fiber daily to prevent constipation. You can achieve this by eating more whole grains, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables.

Spring Cleaning Wood In Your Home

Today I have decided to share my thoughts on wood care. I have many favorite wood pieces throughout my home that I hold dear. One is a beautiful bench made for me by my Uncle,(purchased by my Mom)and various gorgeous wooden boxes and a beautiful pegged wall coat hanger. Others are sentimental pieces made by my husbands father of teak large shipping crates that machinery was shipped in. Pieces that he made into a large coffee table, a dining room sideboard and also a dining room table, and numerous shelves throughout my home.
Taking care of wooden furniture in many ways is becoming a lost art as people choose laminated pieces and cheaply-made furniture that barely lasts a few years. Congratulations if you’re taking the time to make your wood furniture last longer by polishing it on a regular basis! But if you’ve been using regular furniture polishes made with chemicals like petroleum distillatesbenzeneamyl acetate, and cresol, you may be adding pollutants to your home that are shortening your life.
Transform your furniture care habits by choosing natural furniture polish options made from ingredients you can find in your own kitchen! Here are a few effective and fun homemade furniture polish recipes you can tinker with until you find the perfect solution for that antique table:
  • Unfinished wood polish: After dusting the furniture, start with a damp cloth and a few drops of vegetable-based soap to clean and condition the wood and then apply some vegetable oil to make it shine, a combination that can be used on a regular basis. For deeper preservation of the wood, apply butcher’s wax in a thin layer once or twice a year.
  • Light finished wood polish: Combine about 2 cups of oil (vegetable or olive) with the juice from one lemon and rub into furniture. Linseed oil (choose the kind from the health food store and not the hardware store to avoid petroleum distillates) also works really well in the formulation. This polish cannot be stored so make only as much as you need.
  • Deep finished wood polish: Mix a polish of 3 parts olive oil and 1 part vinegar and apply to finished wood furniture for a nice deep clean and conditioning treatment. This solution cannot be kept for the long term and should be all used up or thrown away.
Thats all for now!

Now a little general info on Easter Egg Hunts that I found interesting

Easter egg hunts are an American practice to celebrate Easter. Other countries celebrate with their eggs differently, by how they decorate the eggs or play with the eggs (like tossing them for example or rolling them).

The first American Easter games were egg rolls. Children would literally roll the eggs on the ground. One of the earilest newspaper accounts of egg rolls at the Capital in Washington took place in 1872. The first offical egg roll on the White House lawn took place in 1878 (after officals did not approve of the way the children tore up the lawn of the Capital).

Throughout the years more activites were added to the concept of the egg roll. Near the end of the 19th century children were playing "egg ball", "egg picking" (which sounds like our modern day egg hunts), "toss anc catch" and "egg croquet". Eventually it became large enough that entertainers such as bands were introduced into the festivites. For the 1933 celebration Elanor Roosevelt was first lady and introduced more games. The modern day easter egg roll race of today (using spoons) wasn't started until 1974. At one time there was a circus, petting zoo, antique cars on display, Broadway shows and giant balloons (most likely air balloons) as part of the entertainment. The egg hunt pits were introduced in 1981 at the White House.

Easter eggs were orginally used by the pagans because they were symbols of fertility (Spring is, after all, famous for babies). Eggs were part of the celebration of the rebirth of Spring. (Most of all the Christian holidays were orginally pagan.)

I suspect that easter eggs became a Christian part of Easter when Mary Magdaline offered the Emperor of Rome a red egg after the Acsension of Christ.
